SHELTERS

Referrals to CHS’ Shelter programs are assigned directly to CHS by the Allegheny Link. You can contact the Allegheny Link to complete an assessment and connect to resources and services you may be eligible for at, 1-866-730-2368.


SCATTERED SITE SHELTER

CHS’ Scattered Site Shelters host individuals or couples over the age of 18. Community Support Specialists will assist participants in obtaining benefits and locating permanent housing.

CHS operates 5 different sites scattered through Allegheny County, serving up to 60 individuals at a time.

FAMILY SHELTER

The CHS Family Shelters consist of 8 emergency shelter units for families with minors.

Units allow for families to remain together while meeting with a Community Support Specialist to meet their basic needs such as obtaining or maintaining income, applying for social benefits, obtaining food and clothing, and securing permanent, affordable housing. 

WOOD STREET COMMONS SHELTER

Wood Street Commons Shelter is a temporary-stay program designed to help individuals stabilize, secure an ongoing income, connect with communal resources, and locate and secure permanent housing.

CHS oversees a total of 51 emergency shelter beds.
