Food Pantry
We believe that every person deserves access to healthy food, so we provide fresh fruits and vegetables, non-perishable food items, and access to dairy products, meat or fish as a service for individuals and families.
Housing Assistance Programs
We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
Operating under the Housing First approach, we assist individuals and families in a housing crisis obtain and remain in housing. In addition, CHS assists individuals and families in the community stabilize their housing and prevent them from becoming homeless.
In-Home Services
The In-Home Services Programs empower people to live healthy, safe, and independent lives in their own homes and be more connected to their communities.
Oakland Residential Programs
The Residential Programs at CHS provide a safe place to live for residents experiencing physical or behavioral health disabilities integrated within the Oakland community.
Wood Street Commons
Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, Wood Street Commons provides an affordable place to live for more than 250 residents. CHS operates several programs within the building to provide residents with options for stability, permanent housing, support services, and social interaction.
Youth Programs
CHS provides services targeted at helping families and young adults reach their goals, from Early Head Start to children from birth to age three to Project Silk, a youth drop-in space that addresses health and wellness needs for LGBTQIA youth 13 and up.
