The Board of Directors of Community Human Services (CHS) has selected Everett McElveen to be its next CEO. He will begin in this official capacity on January 22, 2019. He is following former CEO Adrienne Walnoha after her resignation of her position after 17 years of service to the organization.
Throughout his career, McElveen has shown a commitment to helping others better themselves and serving people with unique needs. This dedication makes him well suited for the role of CEO. Most recently, he served as COO of Familylinks where he oversaw $22 million in programs and services and a staff of 350. Prior to that McElveen was the president and CEO of Life’s Work of Western Pennsylvania, where he purchased for-profit businesses in order to provide both gainful employment and job training for individuals and an unrestricted revenue stream for the organization.
We are excited to have Everett as our next CEO. It is the consensus of the Search Committee that he will be a leader with fresh ideas that will take our organization to the next level, while still preserving our fundamental values and the core of who we are. Together we will work to end hunger and homelessness in Pittsburgh — one person at a time.
